How God’s names were appointed to create a special meaning

Adam means man - Adam had a son named Seth
Seth means appointed - seth had a son named Enosh.
Enoshmeans mortal - Enosh had a son named Kenan
Kenan means sorrow - Kenan had a son named Mahalalel
Mahalalel means blessed God - Mahalalel had a son named Jared
Jared means shall come down - Jared had a son named Enoch
Enoch means teaching - Enoch had a son named Methuselah
Methuselah means his death shall bring - Methuselah had a son named Lamech
Lamech means lament or despairing - Lamech had a son named Noah
Noah means rest.

So what do we have?

  • Adam means man
  • Sethmeans appointed
  • Enosh means mortal
  • Kenan means sorrow
  • Mahalalel means blessed God
  • Jared means shall come down
  • Enochmeans teaching
  • Methuselahmeans his death shall bring
  • Lamech means Lament or despairing
  • Noah means rest

Put it all together it says: Man (is) appointed moral sorrow (but the) blessed (of) God shall come down, teaching (that) His death shall bring (the) despairing rest.

These words in parenthesis are added to connect the sentence, not to change it.

This is about 10 generations in time line. God waited 10 generations to deliver his message. This is approximately 940 years from the time that Adam was named to the time that Noah was named. You see, even the genealogy is important in the word of God. Just remember that if we pray quickly and they are not answered instantly, just remember that it took 940 years for God to bring just this one message to his people. God does take prayers instantly, but it is not always as such. Remember that God takes his time. Anybody that loves something takes his time with it.
